Every September since 2005, hundreds of events take place simultaneously in Europe and in some neighbouring countries to celebrate the European Researchers’ Night.

This year, on September 29th, Valletta will host the VII edition of Science in the City.

The main theme of the night is “Futures Today’s Research; Tomorrow’s Society”. Following this topic, installations, exhibitions and shows will liven up the beautiful capital; while live experiments, tech areas and games will help us get in touch with the concrete side of science.

Kopin will be there this year to raise awareness on the climate migration and climate change topics. Fun games will make people reflect on how our planet is changing due to the global temperature rise and will challenge their migration perceptions. Free goodies and prizes will be given to all players.

Moreover, we will be promoting some ongoing projects and events, the construction of a biogas digester in Ethiopia, and will be presenting “Never Arrive”, the autobiographical story of Farah Abdullahi Abdi, a young refugee who tells the story of the gruelling journey to Europe.

Kopin will also seize an opportunity to focus on the Maltese reality, as a short documentary about water scarcity in Malta is going to be shown.

No matter the age, everyone is going to enjoy themselves so come by La Valletta Square and visit us!
